Witness Servers

The XRPL EVM compatible sidechain implementation is a proof of concept extension to the XRP Ledger protocol and is for development purposes only. There is no official amendment currently and it is not available on the production Mainnet. The EVM compatible sidechain bridge is connected to the XRP Ledger Devnet. Do not send transactions in Mainnet.

A witness server enables bridge operators to listen for transactions on the connected chains and sign attestations. Attestations are used as proof that events on a chain occurred.

Running a witness server requires you to:

  1. Create a bridge door account and be one of its witnesses or signer owners.
  2. Create a witness server YAML config file .
  3. Build and run the witness server .
